Experience the cultural charm of Hanoi and the spectacular mountain scenery of Sapa on this 5-day journey through northern Vietnam. Begin with Hanoi’s most recognisable landmarks, local street-food favourites and the atmospheric Old Quarter before travelling north by limousine van to the highlands.

In Sapa, discover the traditional life and scenic landscapes of Cat Cat Village, then enjoy a full day at Sun World Fansipan Legend. Ride the Muong Hoa Mountain Railway and cable car towards Fansipan’s summit, and complete the experience with panoramic views and memorable photo stops at Moana Sapa

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Arrival Hanoi – Hanoi City Tour (L/D)

Meals: Lunch, Dinner | Overnight: Hanoi

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, meet your local guide and enjoy lunch featuring Hanoi favourites such as Pho or Banh Mi.

In the afternoon, explore the capital’s key attractions, including Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ba Dinh Square, Ngoc Son Temple, Hanoi Old City Gate, Trainline Street, Hoan Kiem Lake, St. Joseph’s Cathedral and the Hanoi Opera House. Continue to Hanoi Old Quarter, known for its historic 36 streets.

Enjoy Hanoi-style egg coffee before dinner at a local restaurant, featuring Cha Ca grilled fish. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and overnight.

Day 2Day 2: Hanoi – Sapa Valley – Cat Cat Village (B/L/D)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Overnight: Sapa

After breakfast, depart Hanoi for Sapa by coach. The journey follows the highway through northern Vietnam, with a comfort stop en route.

Upon arrival in Sapa, check in to the hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk to Cat Cat Village, home to the Black Hmong community.

Follow the easy walking route through mountain scenery, rice paddies and waterfalls while observing the daily life of the local people. Discover traditional weaving activities and browse handmade souvenirs and local products along the way.

Return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 3Day 3: Sun World Fansipan Legend – Moana Sapa (B/L)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch | Overnight: Sapa

After breakfast, walk to Sun Plaza Station in Sapa Town and board the Muong Hoa Mountain Railway to Sun World Fansipan Legend.

Enjoy the included Fansipan experience, featuring the mountain railway, cable car, park entrance, funicular ride to the Fansipan summit and buffet lunch at Van Sam Restaurant. Spend time exploring the attraction and taking in the sweeping views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range.

In the afternoon, visit Moana Sapa, a scenic check-in complex featuring signature photo spots such as the infinity swing, Bali Gate and golden hand sculpture. Dinner is at your own arrangement. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 4Day 4: Sapa Valley – Hanoi (B)

Meals: Breakfast | Overnight: Hanoi

After breakfast, join a guided walking tour around Sapa Town. Visit Sapa Town Square, Sapa Church, Sapa Culture Museum and Sapa Market.

Enjoy free time to relax and explore Sapa at your own pace. Check out from the hotel at noon before departing for Hanoi by limousine van in the afternoon.

Upon arrival in Hanoi, transfer to the hotel for check-in and overnight.

Day 5Day 5: Departure Hanoi (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Enjoy free time for your own activities until the scheduled transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Booked 2, 2 day private tours and money was well spent. Private tours means you can where possible avoid crowds and gain entry and exit quicker. Hai and Lun who we had for both days were professional and very prompt. They also could read when our energy was getting low and adapted the tour to our needs. Also understood when to chat and not as we spent a few hours travel time in car. If you’re wanting to explore Hanoi and the outer areas of Hanoi spend the extra money and book through this company. Viator and other sites are good for quick trips but for longer trips use Indochina group who are very professional

We had the great pleasure of having Hai Nguyen as our guide on today’s Bai Dinh Pagoda–Trang An tour, organised by Indochina Travel Group, and he truly made the day special. Hai was a wonderful representative of the friendly and welcoming Vietnamese culture. We have done a private tour going to: HOA LU TEMPLE - MUA CAVE - TRANG AN Miami was our lovely tour guide. Her English was excellent and clear. She hosting us in the perfect possible way. We had a late arrival the day before and left us to rest during the 2,5 hour drive. Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
