Experience the best of Central Vietnam on a 5-day journey through Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An and Sun World Ba Na Hills. This well-paced itinerary blends imperial heritage, coastal scenery, UNESCO-listed landmarks, traditional local experiences and leisure time in Da Nang.

Travel from Da Nang to Hue along the scenic coastal road via Hai Van Pass. Explore the former imperial capital with visits to Thien Mu Pagoda, the Imperial City, Khai Dinh Tomb and Thuy Xuan Incense Village. Continue to Hoi An for an evening in the ancient town, followed by a guided heritage walk and a bamboo basket boat experience in Cam Thanh Village.

Return to Da Nang for its iconic attractions, including Marble Mountains, Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda, Pink Church, Love Bridge and Dragon Bridge. The journey concludes with a full day at Sun World Ba Na Hills, including cable car rides and buffet lunch.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Arrive Da Nang – Hue (L/D)

Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, meet the appointed tour guide and transfer to a local restaurant for lunch.

Continue by road to Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital and a UNESCO World Heritage destination. The route follows the coast and passes Hai Van Pass, known for its dramatic views of mountains, sea and misty landscapes.

Arrive in Hue and check in to the hotel for a short refresh. Dinner will be arranged at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2Day 2: Hue – Ancient Capital of Vietnam – Hoi An (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue’s best-known religious landmarks.

Continue to the Imperial City of Hue. Enjoy an optional 30-minute cyclo ride passing landmarks including the Flag Tower, Nine Dynastic Urns and Nine Holy Cannons. Then take a walking tour to admire the temples, pavilions and royal structures within the Imperial City.

Visit Khai Dinh Tomb, an elaborate royal mausoleum that combines traditional Vietnamese elements with French colonial influences.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Thuy Xuan Incense Village, known for its colourful handmade incense sticks and traditional conical hats.

Travel onwards to Hoi An Ancient Town. Enjoy dinner, followed by free time to explore Hoi An by night before hotel check-in.

Day 3Day 3: Hoi An – Cam Thanh Village – Da Nang (B/L/D)

After breakfast, join a guided walking tour of Hoi An Ancient Town. Included visits are:

Tan Ky Old House
Fujian (Phuc Kien) Assembly Hall
Museum of Trade Ceramics

Continue to Cam Thanh Village for a traditional bamboo basket boat ride.

After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Da Nang for a city tour featuring:

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda
Pink Church
Love Bridge
Dragon Bridge

Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, then check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4Day 4: Full Day at Sun World Ba Na Hills (B/L)

After breakfast, depart for Sun World Ba Na Hills Mountain Resort.

The included package provides round-trip cable car rides and buffet lunch at one of the resort’s local restaurants.

The driver will drop guests at the designated waiting station and collect the group from the same point at approximately 4:00 PM, subject to change. Return to Da Nang and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5Day 5: Depart Da Nang (B)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At the arranged time, meet the driver at the hotel lobby and transfer to Da Nang International Airport for your departure flight.

We have done a private tour going to: HOA LU TEMPLE - MUA CAVE - TRANG AN Miami was our lovely tour guide. Her English was excellent and clear. She hosting us in the perfect possible way. We had a late arrival the day before and left us to rest during the 2,5 hour drive.  Verified Perfect Ninh Binh day with Hai — Hoa Lu, Hang Mua & Trang An
We did a private day tour with Hai covering Hoa Lu, Hang Mua Cave, and Trang An, and it was an excellent day. Hai was punctual, easy to talk to, and very well organized. At Hoa Lu he explained the history of the ancient capital clearly without making it feel like a lecture. At Hang Mua he paced the climb well, gave us time for photos at the viewpoint, and kept the visit comfortable. Trang An was the highlight — the boat ride through the caves and temples was beautiful, and Hai handled the timing and logistics smoothly so we didn’t feel rushed. What stood out most was how personal the day felt. Hai adjusted the schedule to us, made practical suggestions, and was patient and professional from start to finish. If you want to see Hoa Lu, Hang Mua, and Trang An in one day with a reliable private guide, we highly recommend Hai. We would book him again.

Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
