Experience the cultural and scenic highlights of Central Vietnam on this 5-day journey through Da Nang, Ba Na Hills, Hoi An and Hue. From mountain views and French-inspired architecture to lantern-lit streets, royal tombs and the former imperial capital, the itinerary brings together the region’s most distinctive experiences.

Enjoy a full-day visit to Ba Na Hills, including Le Jardin, the remains of the French Villas, Linh Ung Pagoda, mountain-top views and Fantasy Park. Continue to Marble Mountains and Hoi An Ancient Town, where a walking tour and traditional lantern festival experience reveal the town’s unique evening atmosphere.

The journey also includes a full-day Hue excursion via Hai Van Pass and Lang Co, with visits to Khai Dinh Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb, the Imperial Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Malaysia – Da Nang Arrival

Overnight in Da Nang

Arrive at Da Nang International Airport and meet the driver for transfer to the hotel.

Standard check-in time is from 2:00 PM. Early check-in is subject to hotel availability and confirmation on arrival. The driver will wait for a maximum of one hour after the flight lands.

The rest of the day is free at leisure or available for optional tours. Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 2Day 2: Da Nang – Ba Na Hills – Da Nang (B/L)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch | Overnight in Da Nang

After breakfast, meet the vehicle at approximately 8:30–8:40 AM and transfer to the meeting point to join the shared tour to Ba Na Hills.

Visit Le Jardin, the old wineries at your own expense, the remains of the French Villas and Linh Ung Pagoda, home to a 27-metre-high Buddha statue.

Continue by cable car to the mountain peak at an altitude of 1,487 metres. Enjoy views over Da Nang beneath the clouds and take time to enjoy the games at Fantasy Park.

Return by cable car to the foot of Ba Na Mountain, then transfer back to Da Nang for an overnight stay.

Day 3Day 3: Da Nang – Marble Mountains – Hoi An – Da Nang (B/D)

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner | Overnight in Da Nang

After breakfast, enjoy free time at leisure. At approximately 4:00 PM, transfer to the meeting point and join the shared tour.

Visit Marble Mountains and climb to explore its natural caves, rocky Buddha statues, Tam Thai Pagoda and Linh Ung Pagoda. Enjoy views of the river and surrounding landscape from above.

Stop at the marble carving village for photos and to see local artisans creating stone sculptures.

Continue to Hoi An Ancient Town for a walking tour through its historic streets. Experience the town’s lantern-lit evening atmosphere and join the festival activity of floating candle paper lotus lanterns on Thu Bon River at your own expense.

Return to Da Nang for an overnight stay.

Day 4Day 4: Da Nang – Hue City – Da Nang (B/L)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch | Overnight in Da Nang

After breakfast, take the 8:00 AM open bus to Hue.

On the way, stop for photos at the top of Hai Van Pass, also known as Cloud–Ocean Pass, and at Lang Co Fishing Village.

After lunch featuring Hue specialities, visit two of the most beautiful royal tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty: Khai Dinh Tomb and Minh Mang Tomb.

Continue to the Imperial Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda before returning to Da Nang for an overnight stay.

Day 5Day 5: Da Nang – Departure (B)

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, enjoy free time before checking out from the hotel. Standard check-out time is 12:00 PM; late check-out is subject to hotel confirmation.

At the arranged time, transfer to Da Nang International Airport for your departure flight home.

We have done a private tour going to: HOA LU TEMPLE - MUA CAVE - TRANG AN Miami was our lovely tour guide. Her English was excellent and clear. She hosting us in the perfect possible way. We had a late arrival the day before and left us to rest during the 2,5 hour drive.  Verified Perfect Ninh Binh day with Hai — Hoa Lu, Hang Mua & Trang An
We did a private day tour with Hai covering Hoa Lu, Hang Mua Cave, and Trang An, and it was an excellent day. Hai was punctual, easy to talk to, and very well organized. At Hoa Lu he explained the history of the ancient capital clearly without making it feel like a lecture. At Hang Mua he paced the climb well, gave us time for photos at the viewpoint, and kept the visit comfortable. Trang An was the highlight — the boat ride through the caves and temples was beautiful, and Hai handled the timing and logistics smoothly so we didn’t feel rushed. What stood out most was how personal the day felt. Hai adjusted the schedule to us, made practical suggestions, and was patient and professional from start to finish. If you want to see Hoa Lu, Hang Mua, and Trang An in one day with a reliable private guide, we highly recommend Hai. We would book him again.

Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
