This 4-day essential journey is the perfect introduction to the cultural and natural wonders of Northern Vietnam. Designed for travelers with limited time, the tour covers the “Golden Triangle” of the north: the historic, bustling capital of Hanoi, the breathtaking “Halong Bay on Land” in Ninh Binh, and the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage site of Halong Bay itself. From exploring ancient 10th-century temples and rowing through limestone caves to cruising among thousands of emerald islands, this itinerary offers a comprehensive snapshot of Vietnam’s diverse beauty and rich history.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Arrival Hanoi - Hanoi City Tour (D)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International airport, meet by our representative and transfer to take Hanoi city tour covering Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & Residence, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature (The 1st University of Vietnam) after that, you will transfer to hotel for check-in.
Dinner at local restaurant.
Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2Hanoi - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Halong (B/L/D)

After breakfast, leave Ha Noi Capital for Ninh Binh, enjoying the beautiful sceneries of the rural areas on the way.
10h00: Arrive in Hoa Lu, visit the the two temples of King Dinh & King Le in the 10th century, finding out the heroic histories of this two Kings in Chinese Wars.
After lunch you will get on bamboo boat – rowed by the local people – in Hoang Long river to visit Tam Coc (three caves) on the way, you also have chance to see the paddy field if you visit Tam Coc in April or September.
After that proceed to Ha Long City. Ha Long Bay was awarded by UNESCO as a natural heritage in 1994. This four hour drive will show you the diversity of the North Vietnam villages and rice fields along the journey. Upon arrival in Ha Long City we check in hotel then have dinner at local restaurant.
Overnight in Ha Long City.

Day 3Halong - Hanoi (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will get aboard your boat cruising around this magnificent bay and among thousands islands that just out of the sea with its spectacular natural environment – you will also have the opportunity to stop at one of the grottoes.
The first stop on this cruise is Dong Thien Cung (Heavenly Palace Grotto), located on an island in the bay. As the name suggests, the cave adorned with fantastic stalactites and stalagmites. Colored lights transform the scene into a fairytale palace. You continue cruise further into the fascinating rocky areas passing floating-fishing villages, then to the southern part of the Bay, where you will admire view of many strange-shaped islands. Enjoy a seafood lunch onboard! You finally loop back to Halong City.
Get on car and return to Hanoi.
Upon arrival in Hanoi, visit Hoan Kiem Lake, 36 ancient streets (Hanoi Old quarter), Dong Xuan market and shopping.
Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 4Hanoi Departure (B)

Breakfast at hotel then free until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Trip ends.

Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
