This 5-day itinerary offers a deep dive into the history and natural splendor of Northern Vietnam. Transition from the royal heritage of Hanoi and the ancient capital of Hoa Lu to the world-famous waters of Halong Bay and the “inland karsts” of Ninh Binh.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Arrival Hanoi (D)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International airport, you will be met by our Guide and Driver and transfer to hotel for check-in.
Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 2Hanoi - Halong (B/L/D)

After breakfast, take Hanoi city tour covering Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & residence, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature (The 1st University of Vietnam).
After lunch, proceed to Ha Long City. Ha Long Bay was awarded by UNESCO as a natural heritage in 1994. This four hour driving will show you the diversity of the North Vietnam villages and rice fields along the journey. Upon arrival in Ha Long City, we check in hotel then have dinner at local restaurant.
Overnight in Ha Long City.

Day 3Halong - Hanoi (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we do a half day boat trip to discover wonderful Ha Long Bay. Admire hundreds of wonderful limestone formations arising from emerald green water, visit the dramatic caves, grottos such as: Paradise Grotto.
Lunch will be served on boat with the fresh seafood.
Return to Hanoi, visit the pottery village at Dong Trieu town, upon arrival in Hanoi, visit Hoan Kiem Lake, 36 ancient streets (Hanoi Old quarter), train street, Dong Xuan market and shopping.
Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4Hoa Lu - Tam Coc (B/L/D)

08h00: Our driver and tour guide will pick up from your hotel and then transfer to Ninh Binh.
13h15: Visit the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s most significant remnant from the past. Here, you will discover about the establishment of the first capital in Ninh Binh’s Hoa Lu. Learn about the remarkable and distinctive architecture found in the temples of King Dinh and King Le, who made significant contributions to an ancient kingdom.
12h00 – 12h30: Relax while enjoying lunch at local restaurant.
14h15: Taking a boat excursion from Trang An wharf is a must-do activity in Ninh Binh, as it is the highlight of the journey. On the Trang An Tour, while you ride a bamboo boat through grottos filled with stunning stalactites, you’ll be able to take in the breathtaking scenery.
16h00: Get on the car and return to Hanoi
18h00: You will be dropped off at your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi.

Day 5Hanoi Departure (B)

Breakfast at hotel then free until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Trip ends.

Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
