Discover the Cu Chi Tunnels, one of Vietnam’s most important historical sites, then travel into the Mekong Delta for a full-day river experience. Cruise through natural canals, visit fruit-growing areas and local communities, enjoy lunch in an orchard and take a rowing boat through the delta’s quiet waterways.

With free time on arrival and before departure, this programme is ideal for travellers seeking a short yet varied Southern Vietnam experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Saigon Arrival

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and meet the local representative. Transfer to the hotel for check-in.

Standard check-in time is from 2:00 PM. Early check-in is subject to hotel availability and confirmation on arrival. The driver will wait for a maximum of one hour after the flight lands.

The remainder of the day is free at leisure. Stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2Day 2: Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – Saigon (B)

Meals: Breakfast | Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, transfer to the meeting point and join the shared tour to Cu Chi, located approximately 60 km from Ho Chi Minh City.

Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network of more than 220 km that played an important role during the Vietnam War. Learn about the area’s history while travelling through its rural surroundings of rice paddies, ducks and water buffaloes.

The visit also provides insight into the effects of bombing, mines and defoliation, with remnants of the former battlefield still visible today.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City for an overnight stay.

Day 3Day 3: Saigon – My Tho – Ben Tre – Saigon (B/L)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch | Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, transfer to the meeting point and depart for My Tho.

Take a boat ride along the Bao Dinh natural canal, passing stilt houses and fruit plantations along the riverbanks. Visit the My Tho wholesale fruit market before continuing to Tortoise Island.

Enjoy lunch in the heart of an orchard.

In Ben Tre, travel by boat through the Tan Thach natural canal beneath the shade of water coconut trees. Visit a local family to gain an insight into the agricultural lifestyle of the Mekong Delta.

Continue through fruit plantations on Thoi Son Island and enjoy a rowing boat ride along the small creeks. Return to My Tho by motorised boat before travelling back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4Day 4: Saigon – Kuala Lumpur (B)

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, enjoy free time at leisure before checking out from the hotel.

At the arranged time, transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your departure flight home.

Booked 2, 2 day private tours and money was well spent. Private tours means you can where possible avoid crowds and gain entry and exit quicker. Hai and Lun who we had for both days were professional and very prompt. They also could read when our energy was getting low and adapted the tour to our needs. Also understood when to chat and not as we spent a few hours travel time in car. If you’re wanting to explore Hanoi and the outer areas of Hanoi spend the extra money and book through this company. Viator and other sites are good for quick trips but for longer trips use Indochina group who are very professional

We have done a private tour going to: HOA LU TEMPLE - MUA CAVE - TRANG AN Miami was our lovely tour guide. Her English was excellent and clear. She hosting us in the perfect possible way. We had a late arrival the day before and left us to rest during the 2,5 hour drive. Arrived, she gave us much energy to during the tour and she easily joined us with the 500 steps stairs towards a beautiful view. A big shoutout to Miami and the driver!

Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!

What should I do if I get lost during the tour?

Group tour and Private tour.
