DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Hoa Lu Temple – Bich Dong – Tam Coc (Lunch)
Timeline
- 8:00: Our driver and tour guide will pick you up from hotel then transfer you to Ninh Binh.
- 10:15: Arrive at Ninh Binh. Our first visit is the former capital of Vietnam – Hoa Lu, visit two temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of the capital city of Dai Viet.
- 12:00: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
- 13:30: Continue visiting Bich Dong Grotto (emerald-like grotto), around 2km from Tam Coc by car, climb a little bit till you get to the top of the Upper pagoda and your eyes catch the overall panorama of the paddy fields between Truong Yen Mountain. The king conferred on Bich Dong the title “The Second Most Beautiful Grotto in Vietnam”. A scene of the popular French movie “Indochine” had been completed here in 1991. Get back to Hanoi late in the afternoon. Tour ends
- 14:30: Take a boat excursion from Tam coc – a must-do activity in Ninh Binh, it is the most highlight of the journey. On the Tam Coc wharf, you will ride on bamboo boat or sampan to go through some beautiful grottos filled with stunning stalactites, you’ll be able to take in the breathtaking scenery.
- 16:00: Disembark the sampans, get on the car and return to Hanoi.
- 18:00: You will be dropped off at your hote.

Are there any age restrictions for this tour?
We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
