DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Explore Duong Lam ancient village

Timeline

  • 09:00: Our tour guide and drive will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Duong Lam ancient village. Set off from Hanoi after breakfast and travel west, passing through the scenic North Red River Delta on the 1.5-hour drive.
  • 10:30: Arrive in Duong Lam ancient village, a purely agricultural village which was founded 1200 years ago.
    • Take a walking tour through the village, experiencing the dramatic difference from Hanoi’s busy streets and Duong Lam’s tranquil pace.
    • Explore Mong Phu commune house, built in the middle of the 16 century, then continue through the narrow alleys to see the old laterite traditional houses and the brick pathways which make up this charming village.
    • Continue walking to Mia Pagoda (located in another hamlet of Duong Lam), built in the 15th century. Admire the 287 statues of all sizes can be seen here, among which are famous sculptures such as the statue of Buddha and the statues of the ‘Eight Vajra Deities’.
  • 13:00: Enjoy a local style meal in a 400-year-old house.
    • After lunch, take a bicycle ride to the fields, learn and experience the farming work as well as the local life of the farmers here. Visit the temples of king Ngo Quyen and king Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes. Ride back to the village through the schools and local workshops.
  • 15:00: Get on the car and drive back to Hanoi.
  • 16:30: Arrive at the hotel.

  • Child from 8 – under 12 years old: 85% of charge
  • Child from 12 years old and above: 100% of charge

  • 8 – 14 days: 30 % of the tour price

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
